The franchise index links to WebFile. That is the filing door. A number from any other site is not a substitute.
The letter never arrived. The address on the account is stale. The entity record does not match the company you think you are filing. Those three are checks, in no ranked order, and none of them is a count of clients. Inventing a number skips the checks.
The index also links to a change of business address or contact, and to an account-status lookup. Those are Comptroller screens. This guide does not reproduce them.
